ABOUT BARRY WEIR:
I've been lucky enough to have an interesting and varied life, always seizing on any opportunity that life has been kind enough to offer me.
Born in Ghana, I moved to the UK at the age of eight years old.
I left school with no qualifications but I always believed in myself and couldn't wait to enter the world of work.
Somehow I could often see the potential in projects that others had overlooked and was determined to make the most of the ventures I became involved in. I like to think that the one theme that runs through my world of work is a determination to achieve the best possible outcomes by insisting on the highest standards, whatever the sector.
This ethos has helped me to restore a Grade I castle, build up a multi-million pound park home business, establish an award winning riverside restaurant, build an original Aston Martin-approved shooting brake car, reinvigorate Poole Harbour and become A World Rally Champion.
Roma, my wife, has been a rock for me from the start of my life in business. Our first venture was a Bed and Breakfast that I helped supplement by working at the Gas Board.
From there she has been with me during all of my various ventures.
We have three beautiful daughters together of whom we are immensely proud.
And we recently adopted a fourth daughter, our Great Dane called, Quinn!
