When Barry Weir retired from car rallying the Guernsey Press was keen to find out more.
Barry spoke to the newspaper to discover more about the first man to drive an historic car around the world in 80 days.
The Guernsey business man entered the record books when he drove a 1954 Aston Martin DB2/4 more than 30,000kms around the world in 2000.
Since then he has driven in scores of rallies in countries around the globe.
Barry has now decided to hang up his driving gloves as he pursues other interests.
He told the paper how much he enjoyed living in Guernsey which he described as a place of 'common sense.'
