' I'm a lucky man to have married Roma. We've had an incredible journey together both with our family and in business.'
Barry and Roma had to settle for a quiet celebration of their 50 years of marriage as the big day fell in the middle of Covid-19 lockdown.
The couple had met when they were in their teens and have been on a huge adventure ever since.
The Weirs have lived in a variety of places in England, Scotland and now Guernsey and have skillfully managed to combine bringing up their three girls with growing successful businesses.
A few days after their official Golden Wedding, Barry and Roma were allowed to have a celebratory afternoon tea but they are longing to see their children and grandchildren.
Barry said: 'After 50 years of marriage we'll just have to patient and wait a little while longer before we can celebrate with our family.
'Roma and I have been incredibly lucky to live such a rich and rewarding life with plenty of adventures together.
'I couldn't have chosen a better partner in life.'
