'The brainchild of one determined enthusiast, it's no bodged show-car - it's fully functional and well-travelled.'
- CLASSIC CAR MAGAZINE
Barry Weir was delighted to see the Aston Martin Jet 2+2 that he designed and had built feature across nine pages in Classic Car magazine.
The reviewer was not only fully of praise for the one-of-a-kind Aston Martin but also for the man who came up with the idea.
The unique Aston Martin Jet 2+2 car is the last vehicle ever to be built by legendary Italian coachbuilders Bertone. But Classic Car magazine says it's possible that it could now be put into production.
Barry sold the car two years ago to a fellow Aston Martin enthusiast,
Barry said: ‘It was wonderful to see the Jet featured across nine pages. It brought back some great memories.
'After eight years and over 17,000 miles, I decided it was time to let someone else enjoy this special car.
‘I was so pleased that it got such a great review in Classic Car Magazine. It's a real honour to think a car that I designed has become a classic.'
The Jet 2+2 is based on the Aston Martin Rapide platform but has a shooting brake and additional headroom for the back seats. There are a host of other unique features including a full length tinting glass roof and a sliding rear floor that sees the seats fold down to create a large boot space at the touch of a button.
The car shares 70 per cent of its DNA with the Rapide, including its 470bhp, 5.9-litre V12 engine.
